Summer Camps 2023

Program Description

Join us for our 2023 summer camps open to Elementary-High School students (Grades 2nd-12th). Camp registration is per week (Monday-Friday) and have different class options. Classes are built to focus on specific skills and can be mixed and matched based off of the grade. Location of the classes will vary with an hour in between for those who may need to get to a different location. (Locations are also TBD). Please take a look at our class descriptions below as well as what we are offering each week!


Week 1: August 14th-18th (Session 1 9am-12pm or Session 2: 1:30pm-4:30pm) Week 2: August 21st-25th (Session 1 9am-12pm or Session 2: 1:30pm-4:30pm) The end of each week- a showcase will bring these classes together to celebrate their work together for friends and family.

Class Descriptions:

 Audition Prep (Grades 6th-12th) Learn the basics of preparing for a professional audition. Everything from picking the right material, to how you should enter the room on the day.  

Character Development (Grades 6th-8th) Learn the basics of character development in theatre through collaboration and exploration. 

Costuming (Grades 6th-12th) Learn what goes into designing a show, from reading the script for the first time, to design presentations, to fitting your actors. 

Dance (Grades 6th-12th) Learn the basics of dance for musical theatre and explore what it means to tell stories with dance. 

Directing/Acting (Grades 9th-12th) In this Acting and Directing focused intensive, students will have the opportunity to dig deep into a scene together to create something as a group. 

Intro to Theatre (Grades 2nd-5th) This Intro to Theatre course gives younger students the opportunity to explore the basics of performing live. Learn a song and choreographed dance from a popular musical of the student's choice.

 Shakespeare (Grades 9th-12th) In this intro to acting Shakespeare camp, you'll break down the verbose language to get at the core of what the characters are saying and learn how to help the audience understand _________________________________________________________________

Who is this program for?

Grades 2nd-12th.Classes are divided by Elementary, Middle and High School. There are a few classes combined for middle and high schoolers due to the nature of the content and to also provide more opportunities for those ages.

How much does it cost?

Elementary students have one class option for either Week 1 or Week 2. Cost is $75 for the week.
Middle and High School Students have the option to enroll in one or two classes per week! $75 for one class and $100 for two classes. 

What is the time commitment?

Sessions are split into 3 hour time blocks. Session 1 is our A.M. Session and will be from 9am-12pm. Session 2 is our P.M. Session and will be from 1:30pm-4:30pm

Where will I drop my child off?

Our camps will take place at 3 locations this year. We designed it this way so we could host multple classes! Locations are varied to change and we will connect with registrants as the days get closer. Our current locations are:
- Salem's Historic Grand Theatre
- McKay High School
-Howard St. Charter School

What if I can't afford it?

We do not want money to get in the way. We do have limited scholarships available for those experiencing financial hardships. We encourage those in need to apply.
